We visited space development-related facilities in Taiki town, Hokkaido!

|BLOG

We widely support challenges to develop flying vehicles, not just aircraft and drones, and we continue to support them.
The space industry is one of important industries in Japan, but opportunities to visit actual development sites remain limited, making it difficult to feel familiar with it.
This time, we visited facilities related to space development. We would like to introduce them using photos, and we hope you’ll find even a little interest in space development.

In October 2025, we visited the following space-related facilities in Taiki town, Hokkaido, where rocket space development is advancing.

● Taiki town Economic Center
● Hokkaido Spaceport : Taiki Space Community Center SORA
● Hokkaido Spaceport : Runway / JAXA Taiki Aerospace Test Field

Hokkaido Spaceport (HOSPO) began operations in Taiki Town in April 2021. HOSPO is a commercial spaceport freely accessible to global companies and university research and development institutions.
Taiki Town is known as one of the most suitable locations in the world for a spaceport. With the sea extending east and south for rocket launches, and geographical advantages including vast land and stable weather, the town has been actively promoting the aerospace industry for about 40 years.
With the vision of “creating a Space Silicon Valley in Hokkaido”, HOSPO is building launch and test fields for rockets and space planes. As infrastructure supporting the global space business, HOSPO contributes to rocket development and the growth of the space industry.

Here are some of the facilities we visited this time.
