    Main Career

    Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation (7 years)

    Since 2013, I have been the chief test pilot of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation. November 2015 Successful first flight of MRJ as a captain. In charge of company flight test and type certification flight test at Moses Lake in WA for about 4 years from 2016. I hold the qualification as an aircraft certification pilot.

    Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (14 years)

    In charge of flight tests for improving the functions of F-15, F-2, etc. and company flight tests after regular repairs. Established FTEC (Flight Test Engineering Course) in-house to train flight test engineers, and trained more than 200 flight test engineers. Participated in the initial development of MRJ (Space Jet) since 2006.

    Ministry of Defense  Japan Air Self-Defense Force (23 years)

    Worked for about 7 years as an MITSUBISHI F-1 fighter pilot. After graduating from the TPC (JASDF Test Pilot Course), in charge of various flight tests such as XT-4, XT-2, F-15, and early FBW pilot simulation testing during development of the XF-2.

    Main Career

    Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation (2 years)

    Participated in the development of MRJ (Space Jet) from 2019. As a compliance expert for flight control, I was in charge of the leader of type certification activities. In addition, I was also in charge of building the continued operational safety/continued airworthiness system and process for the entire company after obtaining the type certificate.

    Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (7 years)

    Conducted airworthiness inspections and audits of manufacturers of aircraft equipment and/or parts, and Japanese aircraft carriers. Also, in charge of licensing work in the proviso of Article 11 of the Civil Aeronautics Act.
    Since 2012, I had been conducting type certification examinations for each system. In the MRJ (Space Jet) Project, I was in charge of type certification examination as a leader of air conditioning and pressurization system, and a leader of flight control system. Some Issue Papers were created and issued for each mechanical system, and also new regulations for aircraft design were established.

    Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation (12 years)

    From 2009, I have been involved in the MRJ initial development at Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, in charge of landing gear system device design and landing gear system conformity certification. I have been certified as a chief verification engineer for mechanical equipment (specimen conformity inspection, test setup conformity inspection, test witnessing, and manufacturing process inspection) since 2014, and as a chief design verification engineer for mechanical equipment since 2016.

    Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (21 years)

    Responsible for T-4, T-400 landing gear system maintenance design and CX development design, MU-2, MU-300, YS-11 landing gear system/flight control system/hydraulic system/oxygen system maintenance design and TC maintenance.

    Also in charge of pneumatic/hydraulic circuit design for JR 300X and the Linear Chuo Shinkansen, design and pyrotechnic test of JAXA’s supersonic SST-X recovery system and flight test in Australia, H1 rocket 2-stage structural maintenance design and H2 rocket 2-stage structural design.

    Since 2009, I had served as the design leader of flight control at Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation. I was also in charge of developing flight control software specifications for automatic code generation and sensor redundancy management specifications.

    Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (25 years)

    Starting with the design of the flight guidance and ground control  for NAL/NASDA’s (now JAXA’s) ALFLEX(Automatic Landing Flight EXperiment Vehicle), I have also designed a control to maintain position in a wind tunnel for a dynamic wind tunnel test rig (a test device for floating a model in a wind tunnel), a group coordinated guidance for multiple unmanned aircraft, and a reconfigurable flight control for a small experimental vehicle of the advanced technology demonstration aircraft (X-2). In this way, I was in charge of research and development of advanced flight control algorithms, and also participated in a lot of flight tests at Woomera Aerodrome, Australia, Satsuma-Iojima Island, and Taiki Town, Hokkaido, Japan, as a flight control design engineer.

    Air Transport Services and  Spare Parts Repair and Alteration Approved Organization (4years)

    After retiring from the Civil Aviation Bureau, I have engaged in quality assurance and quality control work at an air transport service company and an Spare Parts Repair and Alteration Approved Organization , while conducting negotiations with the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau and obtaining many new approvals.
    In addition, I have conducted regular audits and special audits as the chairperson of the Internal Audit Committee at an Spare Parts Repair and Alteration Approved Organization.

    Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (25years)

    Conducted a number of Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Inspections, Repair and Alteration Inspections, Supplemental Type Design Approval Audits, and inspections and audits of Approved Organization (aircraft and equipment).
    Also conducted a number of test flight approval based on the proviso of Article 11 of the Civil Aeronautics Act.
    Before the MRJ (Space Jet, by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation) project started, inviting instructors from FAA to give lectures on how to conduct Type Certification, and based on the content of the lectures, preparing various circulars for building a system to conduct Type Certification at Japan Civil Aviation Bureau, and conducting education and training for Japan Civil Aviation Bureau staff.
    For the MRJ (Space Jet) project, I was in charge of structural, ICA (Institution for Continued Airworthiness), and Aircraft Design and Inspection Approved Organization, and for ICA, I prepared and issued an Issue Paper and set the inspection policy for type certification.
