We visited two UAS related companies and took a tour of the workplace in Singapore!

|BLOG

On October 1, 2024, we visited two UAS related companies in Singapore, Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (hereafter, ST Engineering) and Skyports Drone Services (hereafter, Skyports), where we were given an introduction to the companies’ activities and aircraft, and were able to observe actual operations.
We also had the opportunity to see operations for BVLOS flight from Ground Control Station, which was a valuable experience that could be had in Singapore, where UAS operations are progressing.

Also, when walking around the streets of Singapore, I could actually see drones in flight.
There are various ways to use UAS, such as for transportation, filming, security, and measurement, but I was greatly inspired by the way they were working to provide better aircraft and services by using the experience gained from actually operating them as a business and applying it to future development.

From here, I will be reporting on some of the tour!

ST Engineering Visit

We were shown the actual aircraft and given a detailed explanation of its structure and systems.
Thank you very much for giving us this valuable opportunity!

At the entrance, there was an actual aircraft on display.

This is part of the aircraft on display. Using this aircraft and the hangar at the same time allows for more efficient operations.
When performing autopilot flight of BVLOS, the aircraft will automatically take off from the hangar when operations begin, fly along the flight path, and then return to the hangar automatically. After returning to the hangar, the aircraft will automatically change batteries and be ready for the next flight in about 5 minutes.
We watched this whole process through a camera, and all members who watched it were very curious.

Skyports Visit

We were given an introduction to the business and a tour of the place where the operators actually operate. Thank you for taking the time for us!
One of the businesses that Skyports introduced us was a logistics service for ships docked at the port. They provide a service that uses UAS to quickly deliver lightweight and higher unit price goods (such as documents) to ships. It seems that the image of a society where UAS are used on a daily basis has become more familiar.

In Japan, there are ongoing demonstration experiments in the development of  unmanned aircraft and their operation, but there are still few examples of them actually being used in business, so we think that the number of such cases will increase in the future.
AeroVXR will continue to support many companies in order to create a better society where new aircraft such as UAS and VTOL are closely related to people’s lifestyles!
Thank you for your continuing support!
