About Design Verification Report
The UAS applicant for a MED risk in the “Specific” category prepares the following documents and submits them to EASA.
Once EASA confirms safety compliance, a Design Verification Report (DVR) is issued to the applicant.
DVR Process
A detailed description of the design, including all configurations to be verified.
A risk assessment based on SORA and CONOPS, including all the following.
-Characteristics and limitations of the proposed mode of operation
-The intended use of the product and the type of operation for which design verification is requested
-Relevant parts of the CONOPS that affect the design
-The scope of the operation and the characteristics of the ground buffer in terms of ground and airborne risks
-The identified ground risk classes, airborne risk classes and SAILs
-Limitations, constraints, or assumptions applied with respect to adjacent areas and design mitigation measures that may affect the conformity specification or MOC (means of compliance)
Safety criteria that form the basis for design verification. (Special Conditions for Light Unmanned Aircraft Systems -Medium Risk)
Design verification program to demonstrate conformance, including proposed MOCs and associated proof of conformance documentation.
Project schedule, including key milestones.
